The most widespread type of intelligent inspection is MFL (Magnetic Flux Leakage) technology. The first MFL inspection tool was made commercially available in 1969. These tools are equipped with a powerful magnet system designed to ensure full saturation of the pipe wall with magnetic flux. MFL tools also carry a set of sensors detecting changes in magnetic flux when the tool passes locations with metal loss and associated anomalies. These changes are recorded and later evaluated to determine the actual dimensions of metal loss caused in most cases by corrosive processes.
Our MFL tools are available in various configurations ranging from 4” to 56” in diameter. We also have custom solutions for heavy wall pipelines, aggressive environments, long distances etc.
A huge number of pipelines and industry piping were designed to be laid in confined areas and thus they do not have pig traps. Such pipelines are most likely equipped with so called pig or three-way valves supposed to accommodate only some short body foam or steel mander pigs. In-line inspection needs were not considered originally.
However, we developed custom ultra-short high resolutions MFL inspection tool, that can be launched from and received in pig valves just as cleaning pigs. These tools will provide inspection data meeting industry standards for traditional MFL tools. Thus the high demand for inspection and fitness-for-service assessment of such pipelines are met by VERECO.
Our equipment is duly certified by the notified body in accordance with the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU - ATEX as specified in "Specifications and requirements for in-line inspection of pipelines" issued by POF (rev. 2021) . Thus our tools are safe to use in the exposive areas and VERECO as an in-line inspection services provider complies with the highest industry standards ensuring safe and environmentally friendly approach to any job
